Coastal State Responsibility and Rights in Regard to Fisheries Resources in EEZ

Decreasing number of fishery resources impacted by unsustainable fisheries management, climate issues, and the sovereignty system at sea have made conflicts a growing security concern, such as conflict between Indonesia Vietnam over Natura Sea. This dispute is exacerbated China's militarization efforts, fishing industry recognizes its ability to influence maritime sphere around it. Other Southeast Asian coastal states, Malacca Strait Natuna Sea, border Indonesia's EEZ, making it vulnerable disputes. And if there violation laws regulations in territorial sea, state can apply criminal law violators has negative impact on or interferes with security. EEZ regime was established regulate long-standing disputes territory unilateral claims, Malaysia which successfully resolved. As result, jurisdictional rights make arrests, specified Article 73 concerning enforcement state's regulations.
